The Butter tree is a stocky caudiciform from the dry western parts of South Africa and Namibia. Tylecodon paniculatus makes a good pot plant and also looks good in a Bonsai dish. They are mostly wintergrowers and shed their leaves during the hot and dry summer months. The flowers are red/orange and appear on long stalks during summer.
Best sown at temperatures between 18 - 26 *Celsius. Seeds take between 6 - 30 days to germinate (depending on conditions)
Seeds are extremely fine (like dust) and care must be taken not to cover the seeds with too much soil.
The seeds offered here are collected in nature and are fresh. For best results the seeds should be sown within 6 months after purchase.
